Gingerbread

Every year we make a bunch of gingerbread cookies and houses!  This is the recipe that I use (I often double it too):

Ingredients:

  • 6 3/4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup butter

How to:

  • Beat butter and sugar
  • Add eggs and mix
  • Add molasses and mix on high
  • Mix in dry ingredients in a separate bowl and then add
  • Beat on low until mixed
  • Roll out and cut
  • Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes
